Writer’s block
Does “writer’s block” really exist?
I’m not a seasoned writer or a best-selling author but I’d say that there is no such thing.
Think about how many thoughts we have per day. I’ve read about scientist claiming that we think anywhere from 20k – 70k thoughts per day. That’s a lot of thinking!
Unless you’re an expert in meditation you’re probably thinking about a lot of stuff. Even they have blogs and books though.
Of course you’re able to write. Just write whatever comes to mind. It’s as simple as that.
Writing consistently about a single topic is a different story though. That’s where people get stumped (like myself). It takes skill to write about a subject.
So instead of calling it “writer’s block” maybe we should call it “focus block”. Not being able to focus on one subject long enough to produce content is a common problem.
You can even have terrible grammar and could have failed english and still produce something worthy of reading if you’re able to focus on it long enough.
Another reason someone wouldn’t be able to write on a specific topic is due to lack of knowledge. Even then, all that’s needed is more reading, watching, discussing, and learning to frame a proper opinion and write about it.
Next time you feel like you have “writer’s block”, know that you’re probably suffering of “focus block”. Start to focus or get acquainted with your topic!
