Reflecting on my 90-day blogging challenge

Writing everyday is not an easy discipline. I challenged myself to blog for 90 days straight last year. Out of those 90 days, I failed to blog a total of 9 days (not going to lie, I was surprised!).

It’s been about a month since my last post and I’ve debated if I should continue to blog daily, weekly, or when I get the itch (still undecided).

Then I found this challenge created by Winnie Kao yesterday.

So here I am, joining the #yourturnchallenge group in shipping daily for 7 days (I’m a few days late but I have a backlog of 90 days to prove I can hang!).

Today’s post will be about the changes I observed while I blogged daily for 90 days.

I originally challenged myself because I wanted to improve my writing but there were so many more things that unexpectedly happened as a result of blogging daily.

Top 5 benefits that I observed while blogging for 90 days

The amazing thing is that during those 90 days, I never noticed my habits changing or the benefits I was receiving. It’s only retrospect that I notice them now.

These are the top 5 benefits that I observed during my season of blogging:

Productivity levels – My productivity levels went up. I was killing it! My daily to-do list and inbox were alway at zero by the end of the day.

Morning routine – Finally, a morning routine that I actually stuck to. I was up and running by 6am on most days, never skipped breakfast, and even read books before working on projects and tasks for the day.

Thinking clearly – Not sure how this happened but I feel like my vision for goals became clearer. I knew exactly what needed to get done throughout the day to meet long-term goals. Mostly blogging about self-improvement probably contributed to that.

Writing improvement – My writing has improved big time as well. Maybe not my style of writing but it has definitely become easier to express my thoughts on paper and I can do it quicker too.

Reading levels – I also noticed that I read more books in those 90 days than what I read in the other 275 days of the year. Here is what I read in those 90 days:

Well there you have it, my top 5 benefits of going on a 90-day blogging challenge.

If you’re part of the #yourturnchallenge group and are taking the 7-day blogging challenge, I’m confident enough to say that some of the things I listed above will happen to you if you extend your 7-day challenge to a 30-day challenge or if you’re really serious, a 90-day challenge.
