Focus, the verb
If we take a step back and think about that verb, we’ll realize how powerful of a word it is. It represents so many things that people want.
Focus is often associated with success, skills and talent. Many religions throughout the world consider focus to be essential for everyday life. Today’s most influential leaders will have tons to say about how focus played a crucial role in their achievements.
Here are two definitions of the verb focus found in Webster’s dictionary:
1. to cause (something, such as attention) to be directed at something specific
2. to direct your attention or effort at something specific
Ultimately, we need to make focus our friend. With all the noise in today’s world, that’s not easy. Today’s generation is addicted to the internet and are constantly texting. We are now bombarded with tons and tons of information on a daily basis.
So how do we focus in our life? If you will allow me to define the verb focus from an inverse angle (keeping today’s generation in mind), I think we’ll better understand what focus means and how to achieve it today.
Focus is the ability to complete tasks by eliminating all irrelevant matters.
It’s that simple. Now go focus!
